our valentine's day weekend plans

2.13  We just got finished eating our pre-valentine's day dinner at home. I made pot roast, crispy roasted potatoes, and honey mustard glazed carrots and B made a salad (mm.. and we had Meier's sparkling burgundy). I also made part of his v-day present (a white chocolate, toffee, and cashew brittle) and baked & frosted valentine's cupcakes (devils food cake cupcake and strawberry cream cheese frosting).

2.14  Braden got me some flowers and a cute nighty set from VS and I got him some David Beckham cologne (the same one I gave him our first Christmas together, but he ran out) and the white chocolate candy. He also got some Panda Express for dinner (I had an exam late today) and arranged it fancily on dinner plates. We had the most amazing homemade chocolate fondue (all the handiwork of B) and sparkling Meier's- our favorite! while watching chick flicks (Four Weddings and a Funeral-  love Hugh Grant).

2.15 We had dinner at Le Nonne and it was really good. We had the bruschetta (Maggiano's bruschetta is better) and I had the Pollo ai Funghi (chicken with mushrooms) and Braden had the Ravioli di Pollo alla Marinara (chicken ravioli in tomato sauce). They were both delicious but I loved the complimentary sourdough bread with olive tapenade the best! So good I could (and did) eat it by the spoonfuls.

All in all, what a wonderful Valentine's day. I'd say it was our best one yet.

alaska alaska alaska

Well, it's settled. We are officially working in Ketchikan, Alaska this summer. While I'm not super psyched about going to a super rainy and chilly location to spend a beloved summer in, (I'll take Seattle though! I loved living in Seattle), Braden's super excited to be able to travel to Alaska. I'd personally prefer to spend another summer in Austin, TX (but I wouldn't go near summer sales again with a mile-long stick- in this case, we're distancing ourselves a couple hundred miles). We'll see how it goes I guess. We're off to have another summer of unknowns!
